Biography
Lyle Yorks is a leading American soccer agent, former professional player and Global Executive Chairman of YMU Group. Yorks offers a rare combination of first-hand playing experience, long-term player-development perspective and a proven record negotiating major moves across MLS, Europe and the international market.
Before becoming an agent, Yorks was one of the top young players in the United States. He was named Gatorade National Player of the Year, represented the U.S. at youth World Cups, won two NCAA national championships at the University of Virginia under Bruce Arena and later played professionally in MLS, indoor soccer and Europe. That background gives him a player’s understanding of the pressures, opportunities and decisions athletes face at each stage of their careers.
As an agent, Yorks founded what is now YMU Sports and has built one of the most influential soccer representation platforms connected to the U.S. market. He has represented players in World Cup cycles, helped move U.S. players into top European leagues and negotiated landmark MLS and international deals.
Yorks is known for guiding players through more than just contracts. His work includes career strategy, transfer planning, club fit, national team positioning, commercial opportunities and long-term development. For young players and parents, his profile is especially relevant because he has experience helping American talent understand when to stay domestic, when to move abroad and how to build a sustainable professional career.
